What Causes Male Infertility ?
The infertility in men may be caused due to oligospermia and azoospermia. Oligospermia is due to the decrease in the production of the number of sperms. Azoospermia is the non production of the sperm. These two situation may lead to infertility. In some other cases the sperms cells may be deformed or there may be some mobility issues,and so the sperms may die before reaching the egg. Genetic diseases such as cystic fibrosis or chormosomal abnormality can rarely leads to infertility.
What Causes Female Infertility ?
Ovulation disorder is the most common cause of female infertility. Other causes are blockage in the fallopian tubes, pelvic inflammatory disease, birth defects of the uterus & uterine fibroids and aging. The defects in uterus and uterine fibroids may leads to repeated miscarriages. The ability of the ovaries to produce eggs may decline on aging especilly after 35 years.
When should One get Tested for Infertility ?
It is suggested that a woman under 35 who is trying to concieve for more than 1 year and still unsuccessful should get tested for infertility. But the women over 35 is suggested to undergo infertility testing after 6 months of trying and failed to concieve.
