An Intensive Care Unit meant for caring unwell or premature newborn babies are called Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU). It is also known as ICN or Intensive Care Nursery. Neonatologists, nurses, physician assistance, pharmacists, resident physicians etc. will be there in an NICU to care for the child. Neonatal nurses are specially trained and certified in the NICU care. They are capable of providing highly specialized care in critical conditions.
